On AMC’s  Breaking Bad we follow the mis-adventures of a defunct high school chemistry teacher, Walter White. He comes down with a bad case of the C word and is afraid that he will leave his family high and dry both financially and emotionally.   He does what any caring and loving parent would do…he sets up a meth empire with a Chilean business man and one of his old trouble maker students.

In this latest installment we see Walter in the aftermath of all his choices stemming back from the very first season;  dealing with taking care of business on his own, having taken care of poor ol’  Mike and leaving Jesse in the dust in the episode earlier.   He seeks out the remaining  members of Gus’s pay roll and proceeds to take care of them as well. Making side deals with the very squirrel-ee , very sketchy Lidia. Walter again , gets control of his blue meth empire raking in the dough and the much-needed ego stroke, which is ultimately  what he truly has been after since the fourth season. Skyler brings to his attention how much dirty money they have actually accumulated… and it seems he can buy the entire country of Nigeria with enough left over for a very nice surf and turf dinner.  In order to get his family back together , he promises to his disgruntled wife that he will retire from the meth biz and seemingly goes back to the white picket fence family straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting.  That is until Hank Schraider decides to have a very enlightening bowel movement. In the White’s bathroom he finds a signed book , a Walt Whitman novel dedicated to Walter by Gus Frin’s old meth cook…you can see the cogs retching on in Hank’s head as the screen goes black and the credits begin to roll. Leave it to Breaking Bad to do a cliff-hanger right. This is the last episode until summer of ’13 and personally, I will be counting the days until we see the blue meth wizard battles it out with the bald bull.
