Comic Book Men Coming Back For More
Television has been plagued for the past year with programs detailing various groups of people digging through people’s garbage and finding dusty treasures. Cookie jars, oil cans, fancy duvets .. all pretty good stuff, if you are into old boring crap. Nerds would get lucky every once in a while if these trash diggers came across a few comics or toys, aside from that , there was really no show like Pawn Stars for the geek crowd. Leave it up to Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) to come to our rescue.
Comic Book Men follows Kevin Smith, his long time friend Walter Flannigan and his staff at Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash, as they come across some of the most jaw dropping, nerd-gasmic memorabilia you can think of. Comic first appearances, Mego action figures and various other vintage toys. Besides the cool stuff they find, I enjoy this show for some of the outlandish conversations these guys have. It’s very in-depth and concise conversations that can only come after a night of drinking and a life time of useless knowledge. Unlike Pawn Stars, these guys know their stuff and have incredible knowledge of all thing geek.
The second season of Comic Book Men is coming to AMC October 14th at 11:30 PM. The culmination of the second day of AMC’s 16th annual FEAR FEST which runs the month of October and show cases 19 blockbuster horror films all through out the Halloween Season, it just so happens that this years FEAR FEST is hosted by Silent Bob himself, Kevin Smith.
