Maulik Pancholy moves back to “30 Rock”
Maulik Pancholy is a very funny man. I’m sure if you have seen him recently in shows like 27 Dresses, Weeds, Whitney and 30 Rock.
Look at his mug and you’ll remember his characters, whether gay or straight, obsessed or not. Well, he recently hit the news, or more like my news radar when he was let go of his last role.
Last season of Whitney Pancholy played the boyfriend of Zoe Lister Jones’ character Lily, who turned around and revealed they were gay right before they got married. Whitney by the way was picked up for a 13-episode second season on a new night, Friday (the show used to air Thursday nights on NBC). This time around Maulik Pancholy will not reprise his role as Neal, instead he moved on back to 30 Rock, which he had initially left to be a part of Whitney.
Pancholy will go back to 30 Rock for its seventh and last season. In it he plays Jack Donaghy’s effeminate and obsessive assistant Jonathan. A role that worked for him for most of 30 Rock’s run, except for the 6th one where he was hanging out at the Whitney set.
