It’s the future, and things need to be easy. At least that is what technology is all about right? Making every day tasks easier, and exerting less energy so that we can do and worry about other things.

That is exactly the thought process behind a new Android App by the name of  Tasker. In our day-to-day life with our cell phones, there are choices we make that happen in certain situations. Some people like to turn on their Wi-Fi when they arrive home, or place the phone on airplane mode when they enter the movie theaters.

Tasker allows you to set an IF=THEN situations for your phone. It handles it by naming it “context” and “tasks”.

-       The context defines the situation in which the task is triggered. For example, time of day, location, or the state in which your phone is in (like charging).

-       Tasks are the actions the phone takes when it’s in any given context, or situation. This can be anything from toggling a system setting to sending a text message.

Think of all those things that you had to do manually, before the emergence of this app? Like starting Pandora when you plug in your headphones. Or open your facebook app when you enter the restroom stalls at work.

Tasker allows you to personalize your list of context and tasks to your own needs. Millions of different combinations can be achieved; the only thing that limits you is your imagination itself.

Tasker is priced at $6.49 and is available on your Android Marketplace.
