Rating 5/5  The pumpkin flan was a pumpkin lover’s delight. Its rich orange color and spicy ingredients reminded me of fall leaves, crisp temperatures and bonfires.

I  L O V E pumpkin deserts, breads or almost anything made with the seasonal gourd. In fact just yesterday I was thinking of broadening my horizons and cooking pumpkin chili. But stop, I want to tell you about this amazing pumpkin flan from La Flanista I had over the weekend. It had the syrupy top mixture of sugar and cinnamon with a custard type pumpkin pudding underneath.

It was a pumpkin lover’s delight. Its rich orange color and spicy ingredients reminded me of fall leaves, crisp temperatures and bonfires. The flavors were not overbearing  like some flans served in restaurants.  The consistency was very light and airy like eating a cloud.  The pumpkin flan especially was full of wonderful fall spices.   It had all the makings of the holidays and with each creamy bite I felt like I needed to cook a turkey to compliment this treat. When eating this treat makes sure you serve it upside down so the delicious syrup coats the entire custard.  If you eat it from the container make sure you dip your spoon to the bottom to reach that golden goodness.  For a great treat freeze the flan and defrost it for 5 minutes.  You get a marvelously rich custard that even the gourmet ice cream shops would be jealous of.

La Flanista has two sizes a small and large size ranging from three to ten dollars. I recommend you get the large…It’s worth every penny. I had every intention of eating half for lunch and save the rest for dinner but couldn’t do it. It was all gone by lunch. I have no idea of calorie count but it doesn’t matter because some temptations like this pumpkin flan is worth it.  La Flanista not only has the pumpkin flan but a variety or flavors. The ingredients they use are all high quality and you can definitely tell from the taste. Usually the vendor only brings the best sellers.  If you would like to order a particular flavor you can always contact them on their information above.

I would recommend you try this beautiful yet simple dessert from La Flanista.  It’s one of those things you can’t pass up.  If you have a comment about La Flanista or would like to share an experience with us about flan add what you think below.
