Rating 4 out of 5 They give more than a nod to 80′s culture in this latest installment. The Lee bros are sporting some incredibly cheesy denim vest ensembles, with an awesomely bad mullet that would make uncle Joey jealous.
Jimmy and Billy are back to save Marion….again, and along the way defeat a hardened street gang that is surprisingly easy to beat up. Double Dragon Neon is a throw back to the classic beat em up genre and 80′s culture. Game play is the classic three-quarters down perspective, with the levels scrolling to the right as you crush some glass jawed goons. This time around you have to defeat Skullmageddon, an evil scientist, ninja …errr demon(?).

The Lee bros are sporting some incredibly cheesy denim vest ensembles, with an awesomely bad mullet that would make uncle Joey jealous. In addition you revive your fallen team-mate by winding up a cassette with a pen, and you thought we couldn’t get more 80′s than the Full House reference in the sentence prior. The best 80′s throw back definitely has to be the OST composed by Jake Kaufman, which includes music ranging from hair metal power ballads in all their squealing guitars and falsetto glory and symphonic synthesizers that are worth a listening to. You can download these free or small donation at the Double Dragon Neon official website. My favorite track is Skullmageddon’s theme.
Double Dragon Neon is available for download on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network now.
