G4 No More
Seems like after ten years G4 will be going away. Sometime next year, NBC Universal which owns G4 has decided to remake the channel in a more like the magazine GQ. Personally this is very disappointing to hear but at the same time it’s not surprising since a lot of the programming is Cops followed by Cheaters and a few movies and from time to time them covering events like Comic Con or E3. In the Early days of the channel there seemed to more programming towards gamers and geeks alike but it just seems that over the years the crowd that they wanted to appeal to or cared about in the beginning they don’t seem to care about them anymore. If you don’t belive me just look at the programing next time. Its lots of cops followed by some gaming, tech, and you tube videos all in an hour followed by some ninja warriors and then back to more cops. While its sad and unfortunate that this network is changing to something more modern and hip. just wish that there was more programing geared toward nerds geeks and all alike.
Though I was certainly in the target audience for G4, I never considered it a go-to stop for pop culture news. Still, I can’t help but feel a little sad today that a channel that came close to sharing my passions is finally going away. Are you upset that G4 will be going away? Were you a fan of the shows?
